Scott Bobleo and I spent Saturday hiking Mt. Frissell on Saturday with Sarah, Steve Kam, my Aunt Missy, Uncle Andy, my cousin, Ellen, and her husband, Jim. (And their dog, Raven) The little mountain range that we were hiking on crosses the intersection of three states: Connecticut, Massachusetts, and New York, making it possible to hike three peaks in three states in one day. Aside from a few steeps climbs and a whole lot of slippery leaves the hike was a pretty tame one. Considering how many times we went up and down and up and down I wasn't really all that sore at the end of the day. The view at the third peak was really amazing.
The last mountain overlooked a wide span of farms. The colors of the leaves and the landscape was a very pretty combination!
On our way back to the car I couldn't help but leave my mark on the mountain. I am a big fan of carns, little rock piles hikers stack up on mountain tops. I always try to find a little rock to add to the pile. Every once in a while an opportunity to get stupid presents itself, and I just can't resist. It just so happened that I had found this lovely cylindrical rock on the trail a while back, and when I got to the next carn it had two rather small round rocks on top already.
My carn. Mwa ha ha ha ha ha.

The next day Michelle and I took Julian and Natalia to Blue Jay Orchards to pick up some pumpkins and Apples. Pooks was being especially cute this afternoon. We pretended to eat all the pumpkins by picking them up and saying "unch unch unch". Before we left, the J-man spotted this corn stalk and had to get his "unch" on. Mmmm... pretend lunch.
